Daily Light & Music Show
Experience the enchanting Light & Music Show every evening in Solvang Park! From November 29 through January 5, our village will sparkle with holiday-themed lights choreographed to festive music. Shows run nightly on the hour from 5 PM to 9 PM, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening stroll through Solvang’s illuminated streets.
Nisser Adventure Scavenger Hunt
Embark on a family-friendly adventure to find our hidden “Nisser”—the playful Christmas elves hiding around Solvang! Pick up your clues at the Visitor Center and track down these mischievous figures scattered throughout town. Find them all to win a special keepsake and bring home memories of Solvang’s delightful holiday spirit!
Expanded Nighttime Makers Markets
Our open-air Makers Markets bring a touch of European charm to Solvang Park on December 4, 11, and 18 from 3 PM to 7 PM. Shop under the stars for unique gifts crafted by local artisans, seasonal treats, and handmade treasures—perfect for holiday shopping with an Old World feel.
Solvang Jul Daylight Tours
Stroll Down the festive streets of Solvang lined with unique shops, and delicious foods including fantastic Danish pastries! This morning daylight tour is led by a local Dane dressed in traditional folk dress. You will immerse yourself in Solvang’s rich heritage and find plenty of Jul spirit! Experience for yourself through taste, sight, and sound how Solvang keeps its Danish Jul traditions alive! Please note this is a 10:00 AM day tour.

Solvang Candlelight Tours
The popular Solvang Julefest Candlelight Tours will be offered on select dates beginning November 30, running through December 28, 2024. The Solvang Julefest Candlelight Tours will provide special holiday experiences for locals and visitors as they stroll the streets of Solvang, accompanied by Christmas carols and an entertaining education about some Danish traditions and Solvang history. Guided by a costumed host, all tour participants will receive an LED candle to hold during the tour.

Santa is stopping by Solvang Park! Meet him on select weekends in December (Dec 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22) from 12 PM to 4 PM. Snap a festive photo and share your holiday wishes with Santa himself in this magical holiday setting.
Tree Lighting Ceremony & Parade
Kick off Julefest with our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 6 at 5:30 PM in Solvang Park. Enjoy caroling, live performances, and a dazzling tree lighting! The Tree Lighting Ceremony is once again slated to include ballerinas encircling the Solvang Christmas tree plus other live entertainment, culminating at around 6:30 PM, and set to be accompanied by a park-wide light show. Then, on December 7 at 11 AM, catch the Julefest Parade featuring floats, dancers, equestrian entries, and holiday cheer marching through Solvang’s quaint streets. Don’t miss this chance to bring more hygge (Danish coziness) to your holiday season, and a free opportunity to meet Mr. Claus, post-Parade.
Copenhagen Countdown – New Year’s Eve
Celebrate New Year’s with a Danish twist at our Copenhagen Countdown! Join us on December 31 from 2 PM to 4 PM in Solvang Park as we count down to midnight in Denmark (3 PM Pacific). Enjoy music, kids’ activities, and a joyful atmosphere to ring in 2025 in Danish style.
Christmas Tree Burn – January 3rd, 2025
Wrap up the season with the iconic Solvang Christmas Tree Burn, one of the largest fire safety demonstrations on the Central Coast. Held in early January, this event is a community favorite and a powerful way to close out Julefest. The 2025 Tree Burn is scheduled for Friday, January 3, at 5:00 PM (weather permitting).
